About Me …

I am a middle school teacher because I am middle schooler at heart.  an independent, progressive school in Napa, California.  We have a great little school (less than 70 students grades 6-8) and I feel fortunate to work with the people I do (including the students 🙂 )

I  graduated from SSU with a Master’s Degree in Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning. Although very difficult to go to school and work full time, I found the experience at SSU invaluable as an educator. I actually miss going to school– especially getting to talk with other adults about teaching, pedagogy, and the general state of education.

I am very interested in the social, emotional, and cognitive development of middle-schoolers. This is the reason that I have focused my thesis project on how I can help make middle school a better time for my students, not only in school but beyond it.
